Welcome to Barker Farms. Located in a small town in North Carolina, we have an expanding heard of AGS registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats. After purchasing our first Nigerian Dwarfs in 2010, we have continued develop our heard by selectively breeding only the bucks and does we believe will improve our stock. As a family farm each member of our heard is very important to us and we care for each of them as individuals with their own needs and personalities. Like many, we prefer our goats to be loving and social, and with each new kid born efforts are made to socialize them to make working with these great dairy goats a positive experience for all who is involved. Every year we enjoy seeing our new kids as well as watching the heard grow and change, and we plan to continue to grow and improve our heard for years to come.
What is a Nigerian Dwarf
The Nigerian Dwarf goat is a miniature dairy goat breed of West
African ancestry. Nigerians are known for giving a large amount
of milk for their size and for having a higher butterfat content than
that of larger milk goats. This makes their milk perfect for making
butter and cheese.
